Global carbon emissions return to pre-COVID19 levels

is a conclusion from the paper published and announced yesterday by the Global Carbon Project at COP27. According to the paper titled “Global Carbon Budget 2022”, the global CO2 emissions in 2022 is projected 40.6 billion tonnes (GtCO2). CO2 emissions from fossil fuels are projected to rise from the past year by 1.0%, reaching 37.5 GtCO2. This means that the emissions returned to the pre COVID-19 levels.
